Habitat Solidarity Fund

A financial solution based on solidarity to address the lack of access to affordable finance for community-led housing.

In most places, the access to affordable finance for housing improvement and construction is one of the main challenges faced by community-led housing initiatives. Peer-to-peer finance and community-managed financial tools and savings schemes are developed around the world to provide solutions.

The Habitat Solidarity Fund is a pilot initiative of the CoHabitat Network, managed by NGO urbaMonde and connecting donations made in Switzerland and France with national revolving funds managed by grassroots organizations and their NGOs for home improvement (Senegal) and housing construction (Nicaragua).
